COVID19 WARRIOR

I do my part, you do your part!

Assalammualaikum and hi! A simple “hello” or a shout out to let you know that I am still alive! 🙂 World Health Organization (WHO) warns that the COVID-19 pandemic is now spreading faster. The death toll in Malaysia has increased to 17, so far. Our government has been reiterating to the public for Movement Restriction Order, stay at home and self-isolate. (Such an history!) But for those working in healthcare services like me, we have a sworn duty.

In this almost 10 years of being a medical practitioner, it will be my first time to be a frontliner in the most crucial time, considering there is still scarce knowledge of how the virus can be transmitted. This is the most crucial time of being a doctor because there is struggle in prevention, detection, surveillance and treatment because of it novelity of the agent.

For me, what gives me a hard time is the patient themselves, who will sometimes not cooperate by not being honest with their travel history or any close contact they had with prior to the manifested symptoms. (me myself had a very bad experienced facing this type of patients during the first outbreak wave, until I need to present that case to state level! Such an nightmare for me. ) I already wrote about this in my previous post.

The moment when my clinic get viral. It’s an age of social media in which any content can easily get viral instantly. Honestly, I was not prepared for the crisis and negative news today can easily get viral on social media into individuals’ smartphones.

We sometimes get confusing whether a patient manifesting flu-like symptoms is Covid-19 positive. But no worries, I try my best to act professionally and cautiously for the sake of my patients and the my team. Being a frontliner entails being highly exposed to patients, making us with direct vulnerable to the disease. Please pray for us! =(

Take care and be safe everyone! Please cooperating with the mandate of the government and please be truthful to us. Let’s help one another. Now is a time to come together, even though we must be apart.
